So my story is nothing new,
Lots of needs but pennies few.
Thrifty at 50 has been invented,
To limit the impact of finances dented.
Saving the pennies any which way we can,
of thrifting im fast becoming a fan.
Its a challenge to change a lifetimes habits
it will be gentle no rush to start eating like rabbits.
The kids are revolting and dont like the change,
and dont want the routine to be re arranged.
But its time to look forward and to just prioritise
and hope that this brings a new joy to our lives.
We have all been spoiled and lived to excess,
Now its time to get ourselves out of this mess.
Back to the old ways of make do and mend,
Life on a budget must be our new friend.
